My name is Catherine O'Connor and i'm a fully qualified person-centred therapist (counsellor) and tutor in Counselling Skills working out of clinics based in Bexleyheath and Rainham, Kent.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy); therefore, I abide by their ethical code of conduct.
Life can throw up all sorts of challenges such as loss, relationship difficulties, money problems, major life changes, health issues, or traumatic experiences. They can ignite feelings of uncertainty, anxiety, confusion, loneliness, isolation, shame, anger or fear.
You may feel that you are unable to share these feelings with someone you can trust. You may have lost direction in your life and are confused as to the next steps. I can support you by walking alongside you at a pace led by you on this courageous journey of exploration, healing and self-discovery.
Currently, we are finding ourselves in unprecedented times, being immersed in an international health crisis. We are faced with a level of uncertainty that has not been witnessed for over a century. All control has been taken away from us and we are at the privy of adhering to the stringiest of measures in order to keep safe . Most of us are facing serious life challenges that we have never experienced on such a scale before. Such times can trigger difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You might feel anxious or depressed, lonely or frightened. You may be having more negative or obsessive thoughts or notice abnormal behaviour patterns such as over or under sleeping, eating, drinking, smoking etc. These are very normal presentations when faced with traumatic events such as the one in which we all find ourselves in and I am here to walk alongside you on this virtual journey in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space.
